Just a quick update from the road. Jake is back with us for the summer so he and Daron hit the road mid-day Monday headed for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to do some displays for this weekend’s Monster Truck Challenge. Daron’s truck has a new look for this week with Myrtle Beach’s WFXB Fox 43 wanting to push the newly syndicated Family Guy television show on 6 nights a week. The boys started Wednesday morning with a display at Wal-Mart just south of Myrtle Beach with a pretty good turn out of people with a lot of questions about the truck and about the show. Thursday was a fun day with a display at the newly opened Ride Makerz at the Broadway on the Beach. Friday morning the guys met up with the Monster Energy people at yet another Wal-Mart. Friday evening was one of the biggest turn outs as Daron and Jake took the Family Guy truck down town just yards from the beach and the Atlantic Ocean, for Ripley’s Believe it or not. All week, every where the truck went, everyone was excited to see it and they were thrilled monster trucks were back in town. It had been over 15 years since monster trucks had graced the greater Myrtle Beach area. Today we got to the track this morning and unloaded King Krunch, got the work done then we made the quick trip over to Awesome Racewear which was just miles from the track and took a well guided tour from the whole family at Awesome Racewear. They showed us the very extensive process of putting together their signature sublimated crew shirts and fire suits which was very exciting.
