Running a Marathon

What else can you say about Tacoma, Washington. We wore out a brand new pair of running shoes this weekend. The weekend started off great for both trucks but went downhill in a hurry. We had the trucks running great except for a still low RPM bobble in El Matador. With a small fuel change we had it right where we needed it. David took the Krunch to the finals against Max D and had a good run going until the truck took a groove and it took a slight back pedal to correct. When you running Max D you can’t back off even the slightest amount or you lose. With racing for the night behind us Daron was out first to freestyle. He laid down a nice run and brought the truck back in one piece. David went out and was gearing up for a nice run when the truck felt like locking up a planetary. This would not have been a bad fix if the guy that we bought spare parts from would have showed up. So instead we had to pull the ‘ol switch-a-roo and pull parts out of Matador to keep Krunch running. It looked like all the hard work was going to pay of Matador slowed down a little but by the end of the weekend he had got the two wheel drive thing down and was giving some of the four wheel drive trucks a run for their money. That is one thing you should never do is count Daron out, it may take him a round or two but when he figures out the power band he will get you. The rest of the weekend week fairly well for the team, Krunch broke one more planetary and them the team switched the big hooks around and ran them backwards to help take some bite out and that seemed to really help the problem. The team is heading back to Houston to get ready for another home town show and they look to put on a great show there for the Houston Fans. Flame Motorsports would like to thank Mark and Mini Me (Dave Olfert) for their help and hard work this weekend. We also want to thank our all important sponsors, because without them none of this is possible.

See you in Houston
