Rain, Mud and Dust
You might ask what they all have in common, well let me tell you. Our first show in over a month comes around, it is sunny then not so sunny Monroe, Wa. We had two days of show and it rained off and on the entire weekend. We had a great weekend with both trucks. Daron took El Matador to the finals on Friday night, coming up just short of a victory. Krunch was running great all weekend and was able to take the racing win Saturday night as well as the Freestyle victory. We loaded up the two wet trucks and headed for Texas.
Our next event took up north to Quincy, IL. The weekend was going better than the show before. It was not raining yet, we had two nice and dry shows and then someone did a rain dance or something. The last show was like running on brown grease. We have done shows in the past that were muddy, but we have never had one like this. THe truck must have add a couple thousand pounds just in mud alone. The weekend overall was good to us making it to the semi-finals twice and the finals once. Both trucks laid out some great freestyle and for the most part little to no breakage. So the guys washed for 14 hours and then loaded the trucks and headed to Missoula, MT for our next adventure.
Well I mentioned dust so here you go. When Daron and Gary arrive you might have guessed it was raining. THey thought they were in for another soggy weekend. But the closer to the weekend they got the better the weather. By show day the track was nice and dusty. Friday didn’t start off well for the first time Krunch driver Gary Schott, The mud form the week before caught up to him and the truck would not idle. So he was unable to qualify, but after some hard work and cleaning they got it back where it needed to be. Gary had to face the fastest qualifier of the night and who else could it be; Daron and Gary go head to head on the first race of the night. Gary was able to pull an upset and sent Daron to the trailer. However Gary was not able to take Krunch the winners circle as he was edged out by Obsession in the finals. Daron and Gary laid out some awesome freestyle runs along with the other trucks in attendance. But it was Gary Schott putting the Flame Motorsports team in the freestyle winners circle for Friday night. Saturday night was also a good night for the Flame Motorsports bunch. Both the guys put some killer passes out but it was Daron that got his chance in the finals this night. However he too got edged out in a photo finish race. Freestyle was wild and some parts got broke. Daron pulled out a tremendous run in freestyle and Gary had the makings of something great; but the truck didn’t feel like doing something great so it figured it would twist an axle and break a locker. The weekend ended as fast as it started we had one broke and one not. Load them up and head for another one!!!!
Our next run of events takes us to the North East, look out Thompson, Ct, Cincinnati, OH and Hagerstown, MD
We would like to thank Ranger Joe for his winning bid in the Tailgate Auction and Fiesta for their donation to the cause. We know Zackary’s family will put this money to good use and we hope that it will help with Zack’s everyday needs.
